The Lion and Sun – Shir-o-Khorshid – is one of the best-known symbols of Persia. For centuries it adorned the country's flags, coins and coats of arms, and it stands for courage, strength and light.

This finely cut pin shows the lion with raised sword before the rising sun – a small, proud detail for a jacket, coat, hat or bag.
